Biosketch (see vitae for details): I received my doctorate in Applied Mathematics from the Université Paris Sud (Orsay, France) in February 1996. My dissertation was performed at INRIA (Rocquencourt, France). I spent a year as post-doc in the department of Statistics at the University of Chicago (IL, U.S.A.). I was then appointed professor at the Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille (Lille, France). I am currently performing a visiting professorship in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at The Johns Hopkins University . I am member of the Center for Imaging Science .

Spring 2007: 580.466 Statistical Methods in Imaging, see WebCT page.
An interesting online book: Introduction to Probability by CM.Grinstead and JL.Snell, AMS 1997.

Research fields: My research interests are focused in statistical modeling. I've specialized in computer vision. Applications include road detection, face detection, skin detection and registration of brain MRI. I'm more recently involved in small sample issues in langage modeling, bioinformatics and computational neurosciences. Research Statement
